New Lakland 55-02 Day! I've been reading about how awesome these basses are and curiosrity got the best of me, so I started poking around and finally found one for a great price at the GC is Tallahassee, Florida. Called up the store, spoke to a knowledgeable salesperson, and closed the deal within 10 minutes.

I picked it up from my local GC yesterday. It was packed super well and I was very pleased when I unpacked it - mint condition and with a really nice Access gigbag. I was even more pleased when I brought it home and plugged it in. Easily the best playing and most versatile bass I own. It's as easy as playing my Ibanez shredder guitars! The neck is wider but it's not enormous and is shallow front to back and the action is super low without buzzing which really allows you to fly. I owned a few 5 strings and none were even close to as east playing as this is. I've officially been bitten by the Lakland bug.

Thanks, guys! The iPhone 4S I have always surprises me with how great the pictures it takes are.

So stoked about the 55-02 and I'm foaming at the mouth to get home and play it again!

Nice new bass! Congratulations!

If the Lakland is now 'your best sounding' bass. I could hold onto that '71 Precision for you since you won't miss it...right?
That's a bass you'll have to pry from my cold dead hands!

Very nice! Congratulations. I was just looking at those on the Lakland website. Maybe I should take it as a sign.
Get on that. Seriously. No disappointments.
