N8, SW35, MAX 110, etc.

Am starting out with bass and need a practice amp. For about $150, I can get an Eden Nemesis N8, Ibanez SW35, Peavey 110 and others (fee free to suggest). Which do you think would be the best choice?

Other option would be to get a really cheap thing like Peavey 126 or comparable to start with for now, take the $ savings and add more to it later on for something really substantial?

One more question: is the Line6 Lowdown ($250) clean enough to record from the output (like using it as a Bass POD)?

I loved my Line 6 110, till it quit working. If you're just starting out, buy whatever amp you like best, and can afford. There's tons to choose from. My new to me practice amp is an Ampeg BA112, if you can find one of those used, that would be my suggestion. Good luck.

I think, of the three brands you have mentioned, you'll get a better, more powerful amp in the Nemesis N8. HOWEVER, I would recommend saving for the Nememsis N10 as it's a little more powerful and the 10" speaker should sound fuller than the N8's 8" speaker.

Also, are you planning on playing with other musicians? If so, unless they're acoustic players, you'll need more power than any of these offer.

I'll Second the N8 is a great practice only amp. If you are playing with anyone else you will need more power than any of the ones you listed.

It would only be for practice but would like it to sound as good as possible for the money. Of them so far, the N8 sounded like the best bet. For more money down the road I can get a more serious amp.

Has anyone compared the N8 with Eden's new N line, the N8Jr or N10? Now I'm wondering about going with the tried and true Nemesis N8 or whether the new ones are even better?

the new n series on the entry ones don't have bass mid and treble if memory serves.

I would go for a N8 but then i would say that as i have one
