NAD '74 SVT/transformer question

I got a '90s SVT CL a few months ago and it sounds great with my SVT 212AV cab, but I found a pretty good deal on a '74 SVT, so I figured I'd sell the CL and get the real deal

The guy I bought it from has had it since '77 when he traded his Rickenbacker for it. He mentioned something about lending/selling to Sheryl Crow's studio, where it wasn't treated that well... I got it for $1000 which I think is pretty good especially since it was serviced last fall by the top amp tech in the area.

I'll take pictures of everything when I get it put back together, but I wanted to get your opinion on the output transformer. It has white lettering which is different than the PT and FT, which both have matching codes dating from '74. Does the OT look original? I can't seem to decipher the code.

Yes... The ETC transformer is the original OT from the 70's ...
The 682 code on the PT indicates it's original from ELECTRICAL WINDINGS ...
I would need to see entire amp inside amp...but based on the laminations I can see through the bell cover holes it appears old and original..

Congratulation on the new amp.

The output transformer is original. The amps from that era had printed labels on the output transformer. Earlier ones were stamped.

I love old SVT's but it takes some work to bring them up to spec. If you can, hold on to the CL at least till you've had some time to carefully compare the two and ensure that the 74 doesn't have any issues.

It looks like it still has the original filter caps in it, does it hum at all? If it does check the hum balance control, if it still hums you may need a cap job. Nice amp though, I've had 2 76-77's for years, great amps. The circuit board looks nice and clean. Very hard to kill those old SVT's.

Those were not the OP's amp. Just sample images to illustrate mid 70's models with white identification lettering on the OPT.
