NAD Late 50's Ampeg "Bassamp"

That amp was waiting for you for two years. While others scrambled around trying to get enough cash together, karma decided it was long enough for you to wait, weather you knew it or not. Hopefully, this will be one of those once in a lifetime Ampeg purchases, that help ease the bad memories of the ones that got away.

My SVT days, I think are over, and even PICTURES of a V4 look heavy to me! I have a '64 B15N, that I've used for recording, or playing without a drummer, but I think it's retired. I'm currently using a '69 B25 top,
and a 4 x 10" HE box, with a '69 Telecaster Bass. Where does the V2 fit in? Is it "half of a V4", or closer to a B25? Exactly what was the power section, how much power does it have, and was it intended for bass use?

The V2 was introduced in 1971 as a guitar amp with reverb, BUT, it had the same pre-amp as the V4 did. At 60 watts with 7020a power amp tubes, the same as the B25, it still will rock as a bass amp. I have the V4 with reverb and I've had the same year of V4b and I could not the difference in the tone of the two, same with the B25b and the V2. So the V2 did have 5 more watts than the B25, the V2 did have a little more spank to it. Yea, my V4 with the 412 cab is the only big boy that I'mm gonna keep. I do have a 412 V2 cabinet that I paired with the B25b that I had and it sounded great.

Yes. I have a V4 with reverb, but it's "parked" right now. It always sounded excellent with a 4 x 10."
You can actually get a pretty close tic tac sound, if you try playing with a pick, foam-muffled strings, and reverb on about 3.
