I still want a power amp. I bailed when talk of preamps and di and eq started entering the equation.
Small box.
Instrument and line level inputs.
One volume knob.
HPF, maybe a 3 position switch (2 choices and off)
Two speakon, two 1/4".
2 ohm capable.
Everything but the speaker out and IEC connector on the front.
Loud.
Under $350.
Let ME choose the preamp and DI.
No aux in or headphone out.
Flame suit on. I can take it.

I hear ya. Though, if you are flexible with your budget there's a lot of choices if you get an integrated amp, like a D800, MG800, AI Clarus, BB800, etc.
Sure. I can just use the power section of a good strong bass head. But then I'm paying for bells and whistles I don't want. I'm also having to buy a used unit to stay in the lower price range. This is a perfectly fine solution for most. My interest is a unit to offer for sale with my own products, that is new.

One good thing about an integrated amp that is useful is you can send a PA friendly signal to the FOH with a dedicated preamp and then tweak that tone for stage use with the EQ section of the amp. YMMV, etc etc.
What is the deal with the "Depth" knob? It talks of 100HZ...but my five string goes way below that, and I'm all about getting at least 35hz. Does it do that? or what? I LOVE that it's made in the USA!
The DEPTH knob is a shelving type active EQ circuit with 100hz as it's "knee", so it will provide a cut (turn to the left) or boost (turn to the right) to all frequencies below 100hz. Look just below the DEPTH and CONTOUR knobs and you'll see a small graphic representation of what happens when you turn each knob to the left or right.
While a bit unusual, it's surprisingly simple to quickly dial in a usable tone. In my opinion, the thing that makes this amp such a joy to use is how faithfully it reproduces the sound of my bass, and not in a sterile way, but with warmth and punch and lots of headroom, and all in a tiny 4 lb. package.
Yep that depth knob is pretty powerful it's all I use when switching basses ,my p5 is a little thin and passive and just a quick tweek and tons o booty.

Not sure I understand the first part of this statement. In what situation would you not want the line in before the master volume? Did you mean to say the XLR in enters before the gain? From what I've read, the XLR in bypasses the preamp.
Yes, the XLR In bypasses the preamp. It enters the signal path after the preamp, but before the Master volume knob so that it is under control by the Master knob. This is desirable functionality and was simply a statement by me, not a criticism.
I have and yes, the Active input jack is the better choice as to not catch the limiter too early on under the Gain knob.
Knowing its not the most popular opinion, I hope the 1/4" speaker outs are retained along with the speakon. The jacks can't cost more than a dollar. I have 3 very good cabs with 1/4" inputs only and resent having to buy very expensive cables to replace perfectly good ones, please don't change. Everything sounds good as is.

There are Speakon output jacks that take either Speakon or phone t/s plugs.

Works for me, maybe simpler and cheaper, but please just keep the option to use 1/4".
For better or worse, Quilter has no intention of dropping 1/4" output support on their amps.
I say this because their soon to be released, premium-priced, Bassliner cabinets exclusively have one 1/4" input on them each. No Speakon, just one 1/4".
In case one is ever hard pressed, please note that it is quite possible to convert a legacy 1/4" speaker cable to Speakon on one side for under $3 USD.

It's not about change or not sounding good, it's about avoiding the fried amp and small fire that can come from using 1/4" jacks.
