One thing to note already is clarity. I love the Walkabout for what it does. (I have done many a gig with that stack. Kills every time.) It hangs with any amp as far as warmth goes. I don't buy into it being so "loose" on the bottom end. But, then again, I use a Broughton Always On in front of it, so there's that. But it will get punchy for days.
The Walkabout and Boogie channels share some common ground, although different. They both can do old-school gooey goodness.
However, the Subway channel runs laps around the Walkabout if you're looking for clean, articulate, straightforward bass tone. It's by no means sterile. It still has a tube front end. It has lots of character. But it can get into crystal clear territories where the Walkabout gets left behind.
Short version: Although different, the Boogie Channel and Walkabout are "close enough for rock n roll" as far as sonic territory they cover. The sound of the Subway channel is simply not available to the Walkabout. And I adore the Walkabout, so that's not a knock on it.

It looks good when I'm singing Journey or The Outfield.
The pink bass body looks like an old Charvel PJ with a swapped out bridge. Bridge is maybe a replacement. I had a red one back in the day.

Seriously though, your assessment of the layout of the head early on was dead on. Once I got the Insrant Gratification settings dialed in and started playing, I wasn't intimidated by all of the controls at all. I would simply think "I wonder what would get me from where I am to where I want to be". And I was almost always right when I flipped a switch or adjusted a dial. It's extremely intuitive. I just instinctively grabbed the switch or knowb that "makes sense". And it ALL just "makes sense".
By the time I was done playing, I thought "Andy gets me".
(Seriously, you don't have cameras in my jam room, do you?)
And, really, I can't overstate this. The cab is something special. Congrats again to all involved. And thanks again for keeping us in the loop, and on your mind, as you navigate the minefield of what weirdo musicians want. Y'all hit the bullseye with the Subway line from top to bottom.
I posted a thread about it somewhere in the Basses section. I even posted the neck pocket and whatnot. Collectively, we didn't come to any firm conclusions on the body.
The content of the OP is unsurprising, given Mesa's approach to gear design and the reviews I have read about the TT800 and Subway 115. The surprise for me was the quality of the write-up. Well written, Sir.

I have a WD800 that will get its first chance to show what it can do at a gig this weekend. I bought it in December since the band got booked to do a festival. Also, I bought Subway 210 to go along with my 15.

Yeah if and when to get another cab is now just a discussion for fun. I don't "need" it. But it sure could be fun to either stack this one on top of another 15 or play around with a 210, 112, etc. combination.
Please post up somewhere about your experience with the 210 and 115 as individual cabs, and then played together. The more I look around and see, I'm leaning towards the 210 being the next cab I add to the 115. With no chance to demo them within a reasonable drive, I am relying on youtube reviews and talkbass to guide my purchasing decision! Thank you!

Awesome. I took the plunge a little over two years ago with a D800+ and a Subway 115.
That 15 is a phenomenal cab. It's even better with a second one.
I just ordered the 410 to give that one a go.

I don't really mess with the HPF at home. It is on the gig where I set it to sound best with the band and it works very well.
