So I went in to GC today and picked up one of the new Ampeg BA210V2's with a 15% off coupon so it was a pretty good deal.Earlier in the day I was texting back and forth with someone selling a Ampeg BSE410HLF on CL for cheap $125.I went into GC with the intent of looking at the BA or a head to power the 4x10 the only one they had was a PF500.I waited at GC for this person to call me back for an hr.Got tired of waiting and bought the Ba combo,on the way home got a call saying come and get it.So now I have the combo and a 4x10 cab,Dilema,should I just return the combo and get the PF500 or keep the combo and buy a head at a later date? The cab is a 4ohm 400 watt 800 watt program what exactly does that mean?

Take the combo back and get what you want providing the other choice is better. The 4 ohm cab will be a stand alone with that head, meaning you will not be able to run another cab with it.

I was just wondering if I would be better off with the combo or the head & cab.I am just taking lessons and playing at home.The cab is in awesome condition and I have never seen one go that cheap so I couldn't pass it up.

Sounds like you got a great deal on that cab! You can certainly use a 410 to practice at home, just turn down your amp! And that 410 will be a great giggng cab as well when you start playing out later.
Since you have the cab, I'd be inclined to return the combo and get the head - if you can get the 15% off deal.

Yep, IMO it would make for a great rig with the 410 cab given that it's in nice shape of course.
