Got mine yesterday. Was everything I was hoping for! Nothing like the sound of a tube amp.
Hey coy
Just wanted to let you know I got my Ampeg. Unboxed it and everything looks great! Won’t be able to test it till tomorrow. I will report back! thanks, EatS:hyper:

Unboxing from sweetwater is a chore in itself :D. I would have bought the 20watt but I need to power a couple boogie speakers. Can't wait to hear what you think.

Love it!! Yours is much prettier with the matching speaker. I wanted one but couldn't justify the expense and storage of another cab. Congrats to you!
Well I think you made the right decision when you bought the higher powered head.Although it sounds real good tone wise it seems to wanna break up too soon and it’s hard to get a deep bass with it. I have managed to dial-in some stuff but usually I don’t like to have to dial-in anything so slightly disappointed that I didn’t get the higher watt head. I think that would’ve been better and maybe even the cab with more handling. I don’t want to feel sick and disappointed but I feel that my rumble 200 kicks ass compared to the Ampeg. Although there is the tube tone which is delicious but it’s going to be at low-volume. Also, playing with a pick as I did over 40 years ago, produced the best sound which was very SVT like. That said, playing with my fingers seemed to overdrive this speaker. Great sound at lower Volume. Bottom line...I would opt for the higher watt and a cab with more capability. I might call my rep.

Ok! Update! If you read my previous post you know I am unhappy with the PF-20t and the 112 cab. So just got off the phone with Sweetwater. I am returning the Head and cab. A PF-50T and a 450 watt PF115 cab is on the way.
Interesting review. This is a step down in power after using my mesa boogie 400+ for 25+yrs. 16 tubes in that tank. With the PF50t on my passive fretless ampeg scroll bass, the tone controls don't change the tone much and it barely distorts with gain at 100%. On my active fretless fenderstein it distorts well with the gain increase and the tone controls make more dramatic differences. My guess is because the input is being pushed harder. In my rock band I use octave and distortion pedals to fill up the band when my guitar player drops out for a solo. In my blues group I run direct. Tonight I will use the pedals to push the input harder and see what happens. The clarity of this amp is amazing especially compared to my solid state practice amp. I do love the tone!!! Has way less background noise than my boogie. Changing the bias control seems to push it harder for more grit as well. I could not tell if your basses were active or passive but that seems to make a huge difference. I would think the pf20 would be plenty for a practice amp but then again I live in a condo..lol. This weekend I will be doing a full band rehearsal and in a couple of weeks a outdoor venue with house PA and soundman. Overall it produces a very clear, clean, and musical representation of my instruments. :).

Very cool! My p bass pickup in the picture is Fender American and in the other pic is my Fender Antigua with a Lindy Fralin pu in it. It didn’t do well with either of them. I tried four different bases each with varying degrees of output the bronco being my least but it sounded the best. Not enough clear volume. I would be lucky to be heard properly over an acoustic guitar. Well they have been shipped back. A PF-50T and a 450 watt cab is on the way. One caveat is the new cab is a fliptop so I can attach the head to it! Total classic. Got my fingers crossed.

Can’t wait for your thoughts after the gig!:)
