Put a set of the nickel rounds on my Fbass VF5.

Got about three or four hours on 'em, and I'm liking 'em! I've used stainless rounds for (gulp...) decades, and these do the job. Not quite as bright as stainless, but plenty bright enough for my slap sound. Pops are clear and defined, and thumps have a nice definition, too. The reduction in finger noise, from going to nickel, is a worthwhile tradeoff, IMO.

That B string is something to note, too. I've often run into B strings that don't quite have the bottom end--but this one gets the job done.

So that's a quick take on my first Naked set--and if the next two sets check out like this (bought the three-fer package) I'll be back for more, def.

I live in NJ. I found these guys and thought i was saved from the looks of ridicule i got in my local music stores when i constantly had to build a super light 5 string set (40-105). I compress the gauge so as to be able to bend the strings easier. Anyhoo , i first ordered 3 sets (buy 2 get 1 free) from Naked Strings. I'm a pro bass player and i gotta say for this price i fell in love. I got straight back online after i tried them and promptly ordered 6 sets for around $70. Imagine my disappointment as i am sitting here 2 weeks later with no strings. I filled out the "support" form on the website and left a call in with them but no reply in 3 days. I would love to stay positive about this company as it does take that financial burden from bass players but my faith is being tested. Can i have my strings please :crying:

I canceled my order, after having the same issue. I got an email response, though. After emailing back and forth a couple times, it came out that they simply can't keep up with the demand. I guess they need to buy more machines or put some sort of warning on their site about any expected delays.

I got mine I think about a week and a half later. Great price and im sorry some of you are having problems with the deliveries. I got the standard 45, 65, 85, 105, 131. I got the 3 sets..buy 2 get one free deal. I love the price but they weren't what i was looking for. I put them on my alleva coppolo LM5 and i find them not as brite or hold a sustain as i like. But I see they are working for others so im glad others find them to be worth it. For the price i wanted so much to be a continued user.

Well, my honeymoon is over with Naked Strings.I tried them out, and although at first I thought they sounded nice and bright and sustainy...they died a quick death...after a couple of gigs, they just lost any luster and sustain they had, and became really dull sounding...

IME, that's pretty typical of 'budget' strings. It's always worth a try, though, I suppose.
