I'd need some advice. I'm currently trying figure out a way to incorporate funk into some heavey punk music. I need some examples of some guys that have already done that. Most people name Flea, and Rob Trujillo, but if you guys could name some more I would greatly appreciate it. :bassist: :bassist:

Definitely checkout Fishbone and Authority Zero. Norwood Fisher is killer and dude from AZ is pretty good (albeit more punk than funk).

Maybe some of the heavier Primus songs would be worth a listen.
  3. I'd be willing to add Tye Zamora from Alien Ant Farm to those recommendations as well.

Might check out HairyApesBMX as well...very eclectic mix of punk, hip hop and latin beats/songs, and usually pretty funky as well. Might also look at Mike Watt's stuff with the Minutemen and fIREHOSE.
  7. I forget the player's name, but if you can find any recordings of the early recordings of the punk band Big Black, you'll hear some very different bass lines for the genre. early and mid 80's stuff is the best for them.

    from the lows,
