Double Bass Name that bass!!!

This is my favorite Bluegrass band of all time. The band is called Yonder Mountain String Band. The woman playing the UEB isn't a regular member of the band. She was incredible, and right after she finished her song, the regular bass player grabbed the bass, and then Phil Lesh joined in, and they took turns sharing the bass doing solos. It was incredible! They kept tossing the bass back and forth and playing their parts. It was a fantastic show, and an awesome bass solo!

Does anyone recognize the bass? I've been learning to play the Bass Guitar, and I have been thinking of getting a standup. I loved the sound of this bass, and would like to be able to replicate it.

Looks suspiciously like an Eminence EUB.

Humm... Eminence seems to be a tad bit spendy... Is it a good place to start with an upright bass, or should I look for a full blown Acoustic? It would be cool to bring an acoustic upright to a bluegrass fest, but the EUB would probably get more playing time.

Yes, that's an Eminence. If you want to play upright, buy a decent upright and leave room in the budget for lessons. I have an EUB I gig during the winter, but there's nothing quite like the real thing.
