NAMM 2010!!! Whats new?

I took a stroll through Baer. Nice looking cabs. The Nordstrand basses looked cool too. I didn't really have time to mess about though.

I really liked some basses from Brazil. A very nic guy from down in the Carolina;s was showing for them. I'll get the name and some pics later. Zero fret design. Started at about $1800 and honestly - it is one of the first times I've picked up a bass in that price range and thought "this is actually worth the dough." Very nice work.

I had time for a quick comparo of the new little tube GK and the MB2-500 - (I left thinking that the difference - if there was any - was extremely subtle. For all I coiuld tell, they had a black case for an A07 to display at the show ... the new little GK 200 watter is so small as to be ridiculous. Definately a hit for the jazz / coffee house crowd - it's just so kitten cute!

The one bass thing that made me gasp was the U-Bass ... Yep - Ukele Bass with rubber strings and a swallow pickup - It sounds killer through a GK combo.

For those folks looking for an acoustic thing to go with an amp - suspend disbelief and play one ... freakin' amazing tone and playability- That was the one bass oriented booth where I left thinking "I gotta get me some of that !"

That and the other thing was the new Dutch guy Simon in John Jorgensen's band - jeeze louise can that guy lay it down. Pull off runs on URB - at Django speed... just sick.... sadly - you can't buy that - If he was shipping those chops - I'd be first in line! and then there was Tony Levin's Stickmen (Sickmen ?) damn ... wonderfully weird.

...I know, I kind of realized that after I posted.

yeah uhmmm... I never heard of Rupert Neve... until I saw your post. :ninja:

I looked it up. :)

That halfrack 1U compressor/limiter and halfrack 1U 5b EQ peak my interest.

Nice...
I use a TL Audio 5051 now wich is 19" 2U... and I really love.

But smaller is always better....
I found the Belgian distributer and might check for price.
I could use a small compressor/limiter for a downsized setup.

You didn't really plugged anything IMO. ;)

Rene, Neve is like the #1 name in studio mixing consoles. a lot of bass preamp makers "borrow" their designs for their preamps, the warwick hellborg pre being one of the more known ones.
