I use a TL Audio 5051 now wich is 19" 2U... and I really love.

But smaller is always better....
I found the Belgian distributer and might check for price.
I could use a small compressor/limiter for a downsized setup.

I met a couple of great small bass builders-one from Hungary with extraordinarily beautiful (and light) 7 strings. As I dig through my swag/promo stuff I'll post the links.
Skjold had some great basses as well. The best necks of the show IMO....:)

i'll tell you, for all that talk from people about needing the big stuff to sound more robust, i'm not hearing it. these little tiny amps are doing it for me. i'm a huge ampeg tube nut and never was satisfied with the sound of solid state or hybrid amps. but these newest amps actually seem capable of getting the job done for me better than the big solid state stuff.

$499 on EBay is best I've found so far. I may see about becoming a dealer though ... If so TB discount for certain ...

It is quiet. Enough for practice but that is all. Plugged is where the magic is ...

the body size is what maybe 1/10th of my of old Tacoma ? While loud for an ABG, the Tacoma couldn't hang with a dreadnaught if the guitarist was bangin' -

so while the uBass is quiet - the plugged tone is just freakin' amazing...

I made it over there and snapped some pics but won't be able to post till later. The LB is 30 watts with a list MAP of $629. Pretty basic layout of bass/mid/treble, high/low gain input, and mid and bass shift switch and bright switch. Also had a mute switch and classic vu meter. Didn't get to give it a listen though so not sure about it sound wise. Looks cool though. I'll try to post some more stuff later. Also has just a single volume knob.

For the first time in 20+ years I am Ampeg SVT-less. I did a gig with a 9lb TC Electronics RH450 and absolutely loved it. I went home, took one look at my 85lb SVT-CL, took a couple of pictures and off to Craigslist it went. I haven't looked back and honestly don't miss the Ampeg.

I NEVER thought I would be gigging solid state heads exclusively.

I can only imagine what class D will allow manufacturers to come up in the next few years.:bassist:

We did not go this year - we spent a lot of time in Europe over the past few months opening that market. I know Nick (Epifani), Dingwall and others did not make the trip as well.

I was most amazed by the Watson bass display. That guy is doing amazing things with wood. Custom hand wound pups and will build anything you can think of. It pays to check out some of these guys who haven't gotten quite the exposure yet. IMO his build quality is right up there with Fodera. (Flame on, just my humble opinion)
