Tangent: I wish just one bass player would "evaluate" a bass WITHOUT slapping/popping/tapping/etc. Doesn't anyone play a groove anymore? Or below the 12th fret? Or long sustained notes?

I hear you, man. I just spent four days hearing nothing but slap/pop/tap (except for a few glorious moments listing to Bobby Vega!). It is impressive, and I can't do all that stuff, but when I sit down and play at NAMM, I sometimes get weird looks for NOT playing that kind of stuff.

Might be a good small backup system but as the main rig, for most 250W is on the lower end of what you need for various gigs. Unless you play mostly in coffee houses or use the PA. I wish 250W was enough but in this new reality of loud stage presence (for the rest of the band) and missing decent PAs in some cases you need more power.

We were really lucky to have lots of groove players stop by. Al Carty stopped by, pick up the Nordstrand P-Bass, crank down the tone control and just laid into some of the heaviest grooves I've heard in a long time. Juan Nelson and Dan Lutz also did some great groov'n, along with quite a few others. Interesting how these are the guys getting all the work. Hmmm...
