Huge fan of Nathan East, love Yamaha basses, I have a 1992 Trb5P, (like Abraham laboriel used back in the day) The MIJ Yamahas are superb in every way, love the ebony boards in particular. Great basses live, or in the studio.

Sweet tone and even sweeter playing! He's amazing to say the least!
Had the pleasure of seeing him once, fantastic player! He always sounds good. Had a Yamaha TRB 5P in the 90’s. Great bass. Just could not get the B string to sound good to my ears at the time.

I did not know he did the recording for Footloose. That bass part is a total bear!
His recording for Get Lucky is superlative. And check out live at the Grammys (I think, it was some awards show) with Omar, Nile Rogers, Pharrell, Stevie Wonder, and the Daft Punk guys. The quote in a section of a Chic tune and a Stevie Wonder tune, and Nathan’s playing is monstrous!
I also had the pleasure of seeing him live with Vinnie Colaiuta on drums in Herbie Hancock’s band, that was a great concert.

Nathan is one of the all time greats as a musician and a human being.
I was just getting ready to post this. Nathan East reminds us why he is a first call session musician.
