Nathan East on American Idol?

I respect your opinion, but I thought he should have been the one kicked off this week. His performance was horrible, and he has been out performed for the last several weeks. He sings every song exactly the same. His personality is the only thing keeping him in. IMO of course.

Here's the performance. Many have called it sub-par. It's hard not to like the guy, though. He does have some of his own thing happening.

His staying in is not because of singing but overall personality. He reminds me of Tiny Tim, that "Tiptoe over the Tulips" guy that played the ukaleli (or however you spell that instrument).

Anyway, I bet even if he leaves early, he could make a record and sell enough to sustain a strong following; not a platinum artist but he could sell enough to make a living and do some touring which is more than a lot of us could do.

Ukulele. Jason actually played one on Isreal Kamakawiwo'ole's version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" a few weeks ago. He learned to play it that week, so I'll give him props for that. IMO that was his best performance, but still not anywhere near as good as the original.

Yes I heard Nathan's distinctive "bass chords" first and wondered who was replaceing Ricky. I also have a wife who though I was mad when I said it was Nathan East!

I REALLY despise this show, but I have a co-worker who comes by my desk every morning and starts talking about it, even though he knows I hate the show. He made me watch a Jason Castro clip. That kid has the worst breath control I've ever heard and he dosen't hold notes out for very long. But he's cute and the little girlies like him so he will get a record contract, sell a few records and then get dropped like all the other Idol contestants who don't have blonde hair and long legs.

I don't watch AI. Never have. They should have a site to post the band for the night. Geeks like us could look and see who's playing.
