NBA Finals thread

I can see the foul thing both ways. What I hate more than anything is games being decided by star players who drive the lane and flail looking for calls, getting them, then winning the game from the line. It's like the basketball equivalent of the Hail Mary pass interference call. Shag that...make the players make plays. Like Dirk's drive against the Heat a few years back, or Steph's drive against the Thunder.

I had a gig and missed the second half of game 4, so I have no opinion on the Green James call, but I do think it's rather messed up that, due to league rules, Green's not even allowed in the building tonight, and cannot take part in the celebration, should it happen. That seems way over the top to me.

This way, the Warriors know they have to play without him, and they've proven time after time that they can step up when necessary.

Yeah...they did not step up!

This whole postseason has been all over the place. I hope the Warriors win it all, but I actually wouldn't be too upset to see LeBron and Co. win one for Believeland. That city deserves it.

I would have like to seen a Warriors win instead we got to see one of the best games by two players in finals history. LeBron was right when he said in the post game interview that it was historical. He also said he knows it is not over. LeBron is amazing and has my grudgingly given respect.
Now on to the next game. Can LeBron and Irving take on the whole Warriors team for the next two games? If anyone could do it they would have the best chance. I'm sure the Warriors will have something to say about that, not with words but with their play on the court.

Game 6 very probably will be decided in the paint & by how closely the refs calls fouls.
If the GSW are not hitting outside the paint, they need to take it to the hoop.
Because some of GSW are smaller than CC's players if they get fouled, they're not as likely to still be able to put the ball through the hoop, if the refs do not call the fouls - Advantage CC.
LeBron & Kyrie just about have to be bear-hugged to keep them from scoring - just bang them around & ball still goes in because of their strength & training.
I thought the refs were not calling fouls as consistently in game 5 as in game 4.
Maybe different refs on the court were calling differently.
At this point, I'm hoping GSW in 7.

Interesting comments from a (disgraced) former NBA ref - that refs are encouraged to tilt series calls in favor of the team that's down...

Makes some sense of DG not being suspended in the Thunder series for a more egregious offense (Dubs were down).

Should be a good one tonight. With Green back, the Cavs are likely going to have to hit more threes tonight in order to win. That means waking the ghost of Kevin Love and getting a good game from Smith. I've given up on Frye.

Will the MVP make an appearance? In the Finals so far, he's only scored more than 25 once, and shot a better percentage than his season average once.

The Giants are very good. But when they turn on the lights at Wrigley Field, I can see it out my back window, so...:)
