Finally, a good competitive game. Cleveland started out great, but then folded in the 4th quarter. GS backcourt found their game, and Green and Igoudala provided the defensive toughness in the second half. Well worth watching.
The problem with Love, IMO, is that he's being used out of position in this series on the offensive end. It's like somebody wants him to play like Nowitzki instead of the more Kevin McHale-ish role he played in Minnesota. On defense, the Warriors' small ball lineup gives him fits, but it gives a lot of teams fits for the same reason. We know Love plays defense like a not-terribly-mobile big man. If that's what you're getting on the defensive end, that's how you should make the smaller players pay on the offensive end. He used to be one of the top rebounders in the league, but you aren't going to get a lot of rebounds when you are stationed as a floor spreader.
And kudos to Curry for coming alive when the team needed him. The 3 point shooting was great, but he made some nice penetration plays in the second half as well and also some nice defensive contributions. Irving was also great up until the 4th.

That was a great game until the fourth. Cleveland's offense flat out went to sleep for most of the fourth, and they paid the price. GSW was also huge on the boards in the second half.

It was, at last, a good game, until the 4th Q. Offensively the Cavs fell apart. They were frustrated by a smothering Warriors D as well. This series is looking worse for the Cavs than last year's when they were without Irving and Love.
The first three quarters were absolutely great basketball. That fourth quarter was awful.
I've had a strong dislike for how physical the game has become since the '70s, and last night's game was a prime example of years of gradual decreases in foul calling. There were fouls all through the game that should've been called. I say replace the on-court refs with athletes carrying video cameras. Put the refs in a booth somewhere off court. They have become celebrities and that needs to stop.

I don't want to seem like a complainer (I am, of course, I just don't want it to appear that way,) but most of the calls went the Warriors' way. Igoudala, knocked the ball out of bounds, as the replay showed, yet GS was awarded possession. Lebron is fouled in the act of shooting, but the refs ignore it. Jefferson is positively manhandled, but Green is allowed the steal. I don subscribe to conspiracies, but I don't understand what the thinking was. It wasn't just letting them play, it was ignoring fouls.
It seems to me that the GSs were in a similar situation last series. It ain't over yet.
I will be traveling this week and won't get to watch any more games in real time unless there happens to be a game 7. Agree that the refs let a bit too much go in game 4, but I did see it go in both directions. And that still doesn't change the fact that the Cavs laid an egg in the 4th quarter.
Agree about the 4th Q. I guess we see what we want to see on both sides.

The way the refs allowed the physicality to run amuck last night I'm not surprised if we see some punches thrown Monday evening. There were fouls on both teams ignored but the Cavs kinda started it during game 3. They put the shillelagh on the Warriors that game which pissed them off hence the push back last night. Can't wait for Game 5.
It's sad that Cleveland sports fans have to deal with yet another choke when it counts season.

Went to my first Warriors game the year they were playing in San Jose. Big fan. I just hope that Barnes doesn't get MVP, because his contract is already gonna be a problem. ESPN already talking about leaving him, trading Bogut and some of our (awesome) bench for Durant. That is so many maybe's is broke my brain.

I'd like to see the Warriors - and the rest of the NBA for that matter - go back to more midrange jump-shooting. One of the reasons Shaun Livingston has been so effective is good old-fashioned midrange jump-shooting. If the Splash Brothers start driving to the basket, then pulling up for more 15-foot jumpers (give or take a few feet), that will be one more thing the Cavs have to worry about. Inside, outside, and in-between. And Bogut has to give them more.
The thing about this coming NBA offseason, as Brian Windhorst said the other day, is that there will be so much money sloshing around as the salary cap jumps upward that he refuses to rule out just about any scenario. Things could get pretty wild.
