NBD: 1968 Rickenbacker 4005

This was the last bass on my GAS list that I haven't owned. Finally found one here on TB. Beautiful, all original 68 Rick 4005. I strung it w/ TI flats, and it was good to go! Neck is straight all the way up. It was much more resonant than I was expecting. It's a real treat to play unplugged.
Anyways, enough with the words...Bring on the pics!

They never sold well when they were actively making them, so yeah, almighty dollar it is.

Amazingly beautiful bass! Back in '71 when I was a kid and taking lessons at a local music store there was a used one hanging on the wall for sale. The guy behind the counter talked me out of it, been wanting one ever since!

Ugh, this is such a gorgeous bass. Why is it that Rickenbacker doesn't bother reissue some of their coolest basses? (4005, 3000, 3001) I know they are all made here in the us, but it's not like they can't expand their factories and then make a wider selection of instruments. Oh well, I guess I can live through the acquisitions of others. Congrats! You are a lucky man
