Those are finger bars under the strings. They are radically different than thumb bars. Just look closely at them and you'll realize they were designed by Leo to be very different than a thumb bar. Yeah...just kidding...never understood that myself. But virtually every player in the world has one or more basses in their collection that is a bass designed by or copied from Leo's electronic designs along with George Fullerton's body and neck designs. If longevity is one of the signs of genius, then Leo and George rate high on the list.Sweet!
by the early 1970s scientists realized you can’t use a thumb bar under the strings so the previous owner knew more about human anatomy than Leo. Now it’s useable.
