NBD, 1st Posting!

1st time poster and long time lurker. Learning alot in the last 6 months or so and no longer a Bass Bum.
Found this 2000 Godin SD Active P/J bass 2 weeks ago. Has S/D Bassline P/J pickups and came with original Godin HSC. Also has string thru body. Got it for $350.
Wanted something I would be happy with for a while and also out of the norm. Also goes with my Son's Godin SD guitar.
He has been playing guitar for a year and a half and turns 10 next week. The experience we have together learning music and instruments has been awsome. Though I really wish I would have gotten started years ago. Better at 48 than never at all.
Thanks for checking it out and looking forward to learning much, much more in the future. My Son can't leave it alone either and he is looking forward to playing upright Bass in Jr. High in a couple of years.

Lenny

Congrats and welcome! I know next to nothing about Godin basses myself, but that's a cool-looking PJ. You have the right attitude--I'm 46 and getting back into playing myself, and I'm so glad I have. And the bonding experience with your son sounds great. Enjoy!:)

Yes I did. Been very hectic around here for the last couple of weeks. I really think I am going to save for the Acoustic B-100. Should be perfect for practicing with Cole, who by the way, just bought with His B-Day money a 1989 Squire II Strat in great condition. The tone on this is pretty sweet, especially compared to the new Squires he tried out.
Thanks,
Lenny

Youre very welcome! And tell him congrats on the Strat!

I've owned a couple of Godins (Freeway 4, BG-5) and I tried out an SD-5 for a few days. Definitely a very convincing facsimile of a Precision and if you can get used to the ergos, it's a fine instrument.

Good score @ $350 for a well-built and distinctive bass guitar. I think the pickguard shape is stellar. I'm considering buying a Freeway 5.
