NBD: 6 Bolts Is Better Than 4

Oh man have I been living in a bass buying frenzy lately. I've had my money wrapped up in GC store credit so it's just how it goes. I went from a couple jazz basses that had crucial issues to a 40th anniversary squire P bass. The OG hotrod red was kinda cool at first, but then it just reminded me of marvel's iron man (and the 49ers lol). Plus it would have been the third P bass in my stable, so I got this instead:

This thing has so many tones it's flat out ridiculous. However, that beautiful striped neck is deep into the heavy side. I almost worried that it would be at risk of breaking off the body if it wasn't for those 6 bolts. The body itself actually has pretty good weight for basswood though. Right out of the box and it plays half-decent. Lots of fret buzz if I dig in. The neck is dang near dead straight, so that's probably the cause. I'll be putting some DR Lo Riders 45-105 on it, so I'll keep that neck tight for now. This puppy actually plays surprisingly well with pedals. Anyways I gotta figure out what to do about the ugly white pickguard.... I'm thinking about getting gnarly and coating it with truck bed liner...

Ideally, every bass should play with a flat neck...even, easy response as much as possible across the board, literally. Anthony Jackson and I think alike.
