NBD. 75th Anniversary P Bass

Nice bass. Can you tell us a bit more about the tone/pickup and how it is distinctive?
It’s hotter than my others and when you roll on the treble it’s very bright. What amazes me is when I roll the treble off it sounds like a normal P bass. I’m very impressed.
I was wondering about those pickups. I think they are called "Fender Royale" pickups. Look like quarter pounders.
But anyway, congrats on the awesome looking new bass! I really like that finish! I had a silver sparkle Squier Bass VI recently but it was too heavy and sounded like poop so I passed it on. (It even had the matching headstock). I think the color looks awesome. I'd love to have a bass like this to play with my Big Band jazz group.

Love this bass finish. Congrats. I just can’t ever see myself buying another bass with a square blocky neck heel after my sterling and other basses with nicer neck heels.
Despite everyone complaining about the price, that does look totally rad.
Broad daylight sets it off beautifully.
I can't remember what was different about the pickups in these, but I did notice the Am Pro II PJ has "anniversary" V-mod pickups, which appear to have identical pole-pieces for both halves of the P pickup (so it'll be interesting to know if they sound different to regular V-mod II P pickups, and if they're using mixed AlNiCo types, what they are.)
This video gives a decent demo of the tone, minus the inexplicable moaning that starts at a certain point.Just what I didn't want to hear!!!
I grabbed one of these yesterday. Super light and like the OP said... it sounds DIFFERENT. The Thunderbolt pickup is thick and grindy and the tone control makes subtle differences between settings. It had bigger poles like a Quarter Pounder. I played it against the Shell Pink Player II that I grabbed a few months ago and it's definitely more sensitive and a bit punchier than that. The 75th Anniversary has an awesome feeling neck and I'm a sucker for anything that sparkles. I dig it!
