NBD 95 Ken Smith BT-5

Bass needed a thorough cleaning and a dose of the Secret Sauce wax.
The bass came with chrome strap buttons ( which I immediately replaced) and black hardware and I plan to update it with the classic Smith gold bling.
The 9v Preamp is powerful and it’s now set up to play at low action after a near miss with a damaged truss rod nut.
The original tear drop HSC makes it a keeper!
I had a 2015-16 Ken called it White Tiger, it was a 4 string. That is one bass I regret getting rid of. Good for you!

I had one and loved the tone recording and live. Did a lot of work with that thing!
Then one day I found it's grail tone. I was reading an old BP mag. A pro study bassist in Nashville said he dialed his lows and highs all the way up. Now that sounded so bizarre! Well I did it. These fat phat mids emerged. Something the Smith just seemed to lack.

The highs and lows weren't at all excessive. Everything was balanced. YMMV and probably has and does. :) Everyone stay safe out there!

Hey Kerry, where did you buy the nut replacement?
