@Cardsfan_69 : I ordered it on a Wednesday after 5pm, it was here by 11am on a Friday. that is some kind of magic, lol. It’s played great so far, but I’m probably going to swing by the guitar store here in the next week or two and have them set it up.

@Pdaddy1978 : Thanks! Just a padded gig bag for now, as I don’t plan to take it out much at this point; zzounds didn’t have what I was looking for, so I ordered it elsewhere & it’s getting here next week.

Well, my very orange Fender Player Jazz got here a day early!! Needless to say, I've pretty much written off work for the rest of the day (oh, the perks of working from home) and am starting the weekend a bit early. ;) I'm trying to remind myself it's been a couple years since I've played and I'll need to ease back into it... but so far I seem to have a whole lot more muscle memory than I expected and the bass plays like a dream(sicle) View attachment 3882366 View attachment 3882351 View attachment 3882353

Whoot! Congrats. Welcome back to playing!

Nice bass! Good way to get back into playing.

Like you, I restarted after a long hiatus. I’ve worked hard to avoid bad habits. And this time, I dedicated myself to learn how to do my own setups and repairs. There are a ton of resources available to teach you. For setups, John Caruthers has a great four part series. Here’s part one:

If you live in the Sacramento area I can do your setup for next to nothing! Only half kidding, of course! I like my action low and my neck straight :roflmao:
