My wife and I went to Jacksonville to see the kids and meet their new bf and gf and of course I had to stop at a music store we passed. She just shook her head and said uh-oh. All I bought that day was some straplocs. Next morning I told her we were gonna drop in again because I wanted a closer look at something. I've been toying with the idea of picking up an acoustic bass for a while now, I just never found one that I both liked the look of and liked the way it played........Until then. They had a Fender Kingman and I loved the fact that it looked different so I pulled up a stool for her and pulled one up for me. It's the first one I've found that just felt right in my hands. She watched me for a few minutes and said "you really want that don't you"? 
I just smiled at her and as she shook her head she reached in her pocket and said she'd chip in $100 towards it. Pretty awesome wife considering I'm unemployed and I just bought a StingRay and a Genz-Benz head this week.
