NBD - AGH Viper

Hi folks

I though you might be interested to see this. AGH is a small UK builder based in Leek in the midlands.

I have always loved Gibson basses, but never quite found 'that' bass. So took the plunge and had one built to my exact spec.

Here are a few pics.

BRAVO.
You sir; have excellent taste taste!
I am assuming 34" scale? Looks it to me.

Quite a nice build. I see Gotoh tuners, but that's all I can identify! Hows about some specs for all us envious readers? Thank you.

Thank you kindly. It's actually a 32" scale which is comfortable for me to play.

In terms of the specs, they are as follows:

Top - Rosewood
Body wings - Cherry (like the older Warwicks)
Neck - Multi-laminate of Maple and Wenge
Fret board - Rosewood
Bridge pickup - Essentially the same as a Thunderbird pickup
Neck pickup - Artec EBC4 Mudbucker (a clone of the original)
Bridge - BadAss II
Tuners - Gotoh
Electronics - Series/parallel mini switch for the Artec and Vol/Vol/Tone

That's about it really.

I had an SG and had the same feeling about it as Lowbassman. I also had an EB3 copy by Greco (I think it was long scale iirc) but it was just not comfortable to play and neck dived for fun. I'll see if I can find any pics of it.

This new AGH, whilst by no means a budget bass, does everything really well and sits nicely on the strap too. Band on Thursday so will be able to put it through its paces properly.
