NBD aka I'm headed to Lowe's to get new lighting.

Sub 5 nice but crazy price. I have bought many of those for $400 + or -.
They had it priced at 675, I paid 500 for it out the door. You won't hear any complaints about the price out of me.

And this is why brick and mortar stores are still "relevant." Congrats! Sounds like you got just the right tool for the job at a very good price.
The last bass I bought new, online, was in 2018. I've since sold that bass.

Not counting stuff I have bought to flip, just basses I wanted for myself that I currently own...

I've bought 1 acoustic bass, 1 Precision PJ and two Jazz basses at my local GC.

I've driven 4 hours round trip to meet a fellow TBer to make a trade, and that was a used Precision that I still have.

I did buy a 2006 - 2008 CIJ Geddy Lee online from a fellow TBer as well.

And then of course the Jazz fiver at a mom and pop shop.

So brick and mortar has been a big part of my bass buying.

Amps and cabs don't matter as much, but when it comes to basses I prefer a hands on purchase over online any day.

Those USA made Music Man SUB basses have become expensive. The days of $300-400 USA SUB basses are long gone.

That one is pretty cool actually. Alnico pickup and 2 band EQ on a 5 string without the gigantic pickguard on the SR5.
Yeah I took an online look at some for sale myself. Wasn't any of them even close to that price range.

Thank you! Like a comfortable old pair of blue jeans. Well taken care of but put to good use as well. It's a great playing, great sounding bass. And one I'm not scared to put a scratch on either. Or some good old honest wear on myself.

The strap was borrowed from my Sunburst Precision. It pairs pretty well with it too. Guess I'll be getting a second one. I have two of them in silver and black as well.
I highly suggest getting a wider strap, as that will help mitigate some of the heaviness of the bass.
