Well technically, it's new bass week because this came in the mail on Wednesday from the classifieds here for $700 shipped with a very nice hardcase (thanks birminghambass) but I didn't get around to sharing until today. I saved up for a while and was looking for a "lifetime" instrument, a main axe, something for 90% of gigging and recording etc. and this doesn't disappoint. Playability and tone are exactly what I was looking for and I have no complaints, just a nice, classy, simple yet perfect instrument. Threw on some roto 66's (my favorite strings) and she roars. Corona, California factory and the neck says the date is October 2002. It really is in mint condition and I'm glad I pulled the trigger on this one.

I was contemplating on whether to change the bridge to the new ones or not but I feel like why bother if I'm going to go string-thru-body mode anyways...

Congrats. One of the best axes available today, at any price.

I agree. Although this wasn't cheap at all (for me), anyone on TB (or musicians in general) know you can spend much much more on an instrument of this kind of quality. Now my girlfriend just needs to understand that as well!

Oh I see, thank you for the insight!

Nice bass !! ... you have the first year that the American Series offered both the STB and the top load option on that bridge (one of my fav bridges)... also, pre S-1 so you won on both accounts .. ;)
