I am one of the older cats on TB, I have always wanted a USA bass. I have owned several nice MIM fenders and others but nothing cool. I was at GC about 5 years ago and was trading in a bass and picked up a Sterling Ray4. I wanted to see what all the buzz was about on these. I got comfortable with the style and sound. I have played p basses on & off but just dig the p bass sound. I got to where I played the ray4 at my gigs. I would occasionally bring my p bass instead and wonder why did I bring it. Since I liked the ray sound I started looking for a EBMM. Stingrays were a little out of my $$ range then I saw this SUB. GC sent it to me! It’s in excellent condition, came with really nice case & other pickguards. So my nice fender is heading to marketplace to cover the $$.
Main thing is the SUB has a TORT!

Does it though?

Great bass. Love mine. Enjoy it.
Ohhh come on!! It did include a black one and a thin silver one.
Tort just sounds better!!
Looking forward to playing it, my next gig is in 2 weeks. I had to adjust the truss rod about a 1/8 turn, probably from changing environments from NE to Fla. waiting to see if neck stays stable. Will restring with EB slinky’s.

Cool bass. Congrats!

Hmmmm. Once upon a time I had a very nice black USA sub that I bought used and it had no pickguard. So I bought a tort for it. Might have bought a black guard too I think? I would swap between them as the mood hit. Eventually sold it to buy something else, as I was prone to do . So I wonder if...?
