Rick James had one on his Throwin' Down Album, but I don't remember seeing him play it on that concert tour. Different headstock on Rick's. No bridge cover either.

I saw his original axe bass at Hard Rock London and cort has done a pretty good job at replicating it
I know kinda funny all guitar players but the drummer and Rob! Any way I thought I had seen him play bass before on another KISS cover?

Yea I got one also! Since the body is so light, compared to my other basses anyways. My idea is to find some of the lightest tuners that I can, Hipshot Ultra lights. Move the front strap button to where one of the neck bolts are and maybe put some stick on wheel weights inside the back electronics cover. Tells us if you end up changing the pickups, how it sounds and which EMGs you use. I am interested myself. I have been following your vids on youtube, great stuff!!!

Yes, I replaced the original Mighty Mite pickups with an EMG PJ set, the same electronics package on the $5000 version of the Cort Axe. I've you have seen both of my Axe videos on YouTube, then you've heard the difference between both sets. The "Schism" video was recorded when the bass still had the stock Migthy Mite pickups and the "Funk Me Tender" video features the EMG electronics. I really liked the tone of the instrument when I received it and I didn't think of changing the pickups. The thing is, the tone was really nice at home, but after the first rehearsal with a full band (including a Les Paul guitar and a double bass drum set playing hard rock tunes) it was clear that it couldn't handle it. The bass got lost in the mix pretty quickly. Needless to say, the EMG PJ set was a huge improvement (or I think so, at least).
