[NBD] ANTIGUA FSR PBASS

Hi All,

Fairly new to bass. 5 years or so. Just aquire a FSR Antigua Pbass. Was on my way for a Road Worn. But the one I saw, the creamy one, was not to my liking re the finish in real life. At all. And hanged in the shop for a year or so, with no discount proposed whatsoever... I passed.

And then she came... second hand. From first buyer. All original.
Antigua. I saw one in a shop, probably from the late 70s run. Was not keen on it. Thought it looked dirty. They not necessarily aged well those ones. Very Yellowish was she. I passed. Real quick. I was a starter and had not the do' for such a cookie.

So here I am, frustrated about the one not shot with the RW. A Japanese with rosewood fretboard passed my way the week after. All black. FSR still available at the moment. 'Round 1000e. I drooled. Beauty. But still, 1000e. I felt I was more on the "I need to spend" than the "It's fairly the right one for me". I passed. Still frustrated. But passed.

And I opened my phone, not very smart of me, on a second-hand well known website in here, France. There she was. I forgot about this 2012 run. At all. Superb. Fat neck (not that but more than my jaguar jazz neck), and maple. And the colourway so nicely attractive, you do not even know why. Yes, why ?

Emailed. Guy replied all is original. I said I pay the shipping. He said Ok. I received the bass. The neck is gorgeous. Flamed on the side. Beauty. Body shape Pbass, what can you say more ? Colour is one of a kind (actually 300 of a kind). Some tech : under the pickguard is a stamped date : XX august 2012. And a number written by hand : 6. (6 ?)

I posted some questions to you guys about pots and pups in the pickups section :
Antigua FSR owners question

If you ever have some info to share, or this could be usefull to you, feel free to give it a go, that would jazz (or rock, depending on your preferences, I'm no snob about music)

Update. All set up now. Changed the flat wounds that the beast came with. Labella. The E was dead. Mean *dead*. No resonance whatsoever. Scary. Placed roundwounds that was in the Fender gig-bag received in the shipment from the seller. First of, even though I use flats and thought it was the bomb, I was willing to have a 70ish/esk tool. Got it. And on the verge on not appreciating flats whatsoever since then. Will the fretless go round ? Meab'
