NBD : Aviator Guitars Bomber 4 Multiscale

Oh right, I forgot Lusithand was doing that! What's the benefit of that vs just summing the coils passively? Different impedance creating a different/better sound?
I've read that it changes the tone but having never tried it... I'm just curious

Quick sound bits going through all 3 pickup options with tone fully on, through Neural DSP Parallax's "Fat clean" preset
Dropbox - Hypnotic Aviator.mp3 - Simplify your life

I'm really curious why you would put the bass, as beautiful as it is, on top of gravel to take the pictures. How does that not scratch it and why is it desirable? I've never understood why people do this and no one gives a straight answer. Why not on top of the sofa or on the bed? Gravel? Stones? Rocks?

I don't have a bed, a sofa nor adequate lighting in the office where it was delivered. I could however hop out the window onto this rooftop with plenty of sunlight.

That's still strange to me that you were in such a rush to post pics on Talkbass, you couldn't just wait until you got home so you could place it in your bed, on carpet, on a blanket, something. Instead you chose to put it face down on rocks. And then no one says anything but "cool bass bro" like putting your brand new bass face down on a pile of rocks is perfectly normal? Strange world...

That is a N I I I C E BASS! I don't have the money for a custom build, but Brice got me as close as I'll ever get with this:

IMGP3401a.jpg

34"-37" scale, neck-thru (Maple & Walnut), Mahogany body, VVT passive. And I modded the controls with pushpots to allow me to choose inner coils/outer coils or both pups in series or parallel mode. Compound radius would be nice, but I love it!

While not as refined I bet it's a perfectly functional low end machine - plus if the build quality is solid, mods are a fun way to make it your own. I could see a stain on this one.
