Whoever did the relic job on it did a pretty good job though.

It's, a 16 year old instrument, so I think it's likely honest player wear.

That said, the forearm area is the most satisfying wear I've ever seen on a Poly finished instrument.

I agree. I think it’s also honestly play wear just b/c the fretboard had a ton of dirt and oil on it. The nut slots were caked in dirt and funk also.

I too saw this on GC's used gear site and thought it was cool. Glad it went to a good home!

Luckily it was at my local store so I saw it in person a few weeks ago and of course couldn’t stop thinking about it so I had to grab it.

I don't know for sure, but that looks relic'ed. EBMM finishes are pretty durable, certainly poly. I had a 90s EBMM Sterling that I played the crap out of and it didn't look anywhere near as worn as this.

2009. It’s definitely beat to hell and it was super dirty. I cleaned and oiled the fretboard. It plays like a dream.

I found this beat up stingray 4 at GC and had to have it. I love relic instruments and had to have this ray when I saw it. It was nice that GC does 24 month same as cash on used gear once in a while. It’s plays really nice.

I’ve seen worse.. everytime I look in the mirror..lol

Your thread is awesome. I’m a huge relic/play wear fan also. I just got a 64 CS which has relic also.
