Made the mistake of watching @LowEndLobster and his videos on the EBMM Stingray Classic. This is the result:

2013 Stingray Classic in Sledge (the Tony Levin PDN model). Played it out this Saturday and love it.

P.S. It also weighs under ten pounds!

I also have two three band Stingray 4H basses - fretted and fretless. I found the same sound differences between the two band and three band that he did in his video. The three bands sound great (especially the fretless - got lucky on a fantastic one) - the two band Classic has just a little extra that makes it exceptional.

Dude honestly I REALLY want a Sabre Classic. I wanted his video last night and that inca silver one...omg.
There's 2 gorgeous ones on Reverb right now, including one that's silver. Too heavy for me though.

Thanks. I prefer glossy necks also. When I coat my fretless Stingray fingerboard, I am going to put several coats of oil on the back to make it feel more glossy.

I've wanted a Sabre ever since I had a go of somebody's natural finish version in the early '90s.

Likewise I'm kicking myself for deciding not to buy the Riverhead Unicorn headless I tried out about the same time.

Those two are the basses I still wish I had all those years later.

I bought an Ibanez SR300E even though Lobster didn't care for it, so he gets a pass from blame this time! :laugh:

Joking aside, I did verify the serial number information after reading several of the seller’s reviews. The seller was great to deal with and was excellent at communication - contacted me several times to verify I knew the bass was out for delivery, etc.
