Came across this Tremor 4X on Reverb...Has an added switch and poles on pups,chrome....

Pulled the neck off. Not sure if it helped much but at least I know what color it used to be!
The number on the neck heal is 00108, there might be a "3" before it (I don't think it is a 2).

The post of that second Tremor says that it was bought in the U.S. in 2008,but doesn't mention if it was new at that point....That last 08 may be the production year, though the serial number ends with 14.
I played around with the picture to get more out of it,but not much better.
Neat idea on the picture. The first digit looks a little more evident in that version.
I will check the 08 catalog again, I think the tremor started showing up around '00 but not in the passivdy p/j config.

Update: since the pots did not seem to do anything, I took them out and wired the pups in series and direct to the jack. Sounds good but has a bad hum. I'm not sure why, I soldered the pup ground and bridge ground to the jack
I think he was referring to all the excess winds of the strings on the tuning posts.
And yes, the headstock damage looks like a cymbal bite to me.

It’s your bass and it’s certainly up to you... but I would have fixed the issues with the pots instead. Just sayin’.

The headstock is the least damaged part of the whole instrument!
I tried disassembling and cleaning them. I might give it another go though.
Pots, caps, an output jack, and wiring are inexpensive. Do you have a multimeter? Harbor Freight has an adequate one for under $10. Good investment if you don’t own one. Read up on the use of one, diagnose the issue or find a Fernandes wiring diagram and copy it.
The parts are so cheap, it doesn’t really pay to try to reuse them if the instrument’s previous owner abused it.

No. This, too, can be fixed. One problem at a time.
Go through the electronics. You have signal. Replace the pots, cap, jack, and associated wiring. Hum is usually caused by bad grounds, poor shielding, or 60 Hz hum from the single coil J pickup. The P pickup should be humbucking.
Next, check the neck relief. See if the truss rod can be adjusted to factory specs. If so, see if the action can be set to decent playability. The neck looks much better than the body; you may have a shot.
Only if all else is done, then address the body cosmetics.
Let us know how you’re progressing.
