NBD - Custom Classic Jazz

I bought a barely used 2008 Custom Shop Classic from a fellow TBer here. What a great feeling bass. After a full gig with it, I can whole heartedly say, as a Fender freak, that this bass is the nicest Fender Jazz I've ever played.

Congrats on the new bass! So how's the weight?

Looks like they used something to darken the grain in the ash. Beautiful finish. Makes me want to get some cherry Kool-Aid.

The original owner replaces the stock controls with a John East J-Retro pre-amp as well as Lollar pups. He also exquisitely kept the original parts so I can restock it to original.

Never played Lollars or John East but I can say everything I've read is true: deep sound from the pups and the East is a tone machine. In fact the mid control almost could be used a rotary, hand controlled wah there is so much range.
