Need some input from followers of this thread: Black strap buttons or chrome strap buttons with a black felt washer?
Go for all gold hardware. With your wood selections gold will make that bass look like a million bucks. Just my opinion. Gold is so classy.
There always has to be someone who swims upstream. Did you not see the hardware? It’s black and chrome combo. Gold is nice on certain instruments but doesn’t have the classic mojo I wanted. The frets are EVO Gold, but this is pretty subtle.
I should sneak over to Mike's and put some handprints on it.
That is one beautiful instrument! I know the wait is hard, but you've made it through! Congrats, rock it hard! 
Wow Mike must really like you. When I asked him a few years ago about a custom Kompact he blew me off without even pausing and pretending to consider it! Beautiful looking bass I'm sure is gonna be just awesome. Great builder and a great person.
I hope he does like me because I probably annoy the $&1+ out of him! Considering this is my 4th custom and 5th Kinal overall, he may have taken this on just because of that.
yeah, pretty much what happened to me 20 years ago.......I've had 3 custom builds since then so I don't need another but I would still love to have one like that.....lucky guy you are.....
Almost done...only thing left is the ebony thumb rest, knobs and strap locks (which I’m bringing).
Hopefully it stops raining here, hasn't been a stellar weekend, although Friday was great.
Hey, it’s your bass customized to your personal specifications. Don’t worry about other peoples’ opinions on certain aspects. It’s a thing of beauty.
It is what it is. It’s been raining here a bunch too. It’s about to get crazy hot so I’m okay with escaping that for a few days...and just exploring a new (to me) place is always fun!
