Aggghh that is such a difficult question. But if I had to be honest, I really, really, really enjoy playing over the neck pickup with the bridge/neck in parallel mode. It sounds full and has a bit of grit to it.

I just put some Peyson Black Dagger strings on my D-Bird and they sound fantastic. They remind me of the DR Black Beauty strings I use on my Stingray basses to trim the top end a bit, except these don’t have that somewhat sticky feel that Black Beauties have. I like your sound, what strings are you currently using?

I just put some Peyson Black Dagger strings on my D-Bird and they sound fantastic. They remind me of the DR Black Beauty strings I use on my Stingray basses to trim the top end a bit, except these don’t have that somewhat sticky feel that Black Beauties have. I like your sound, what strings are you currently using?

I assume those are Dingwalls own nickel strings. I haven't restrung them yet BUT! I do have a fresh pack of unopened Dingwall nickels just waiting to be thrown on it.

How do you like the Paysons? I've used DR BB on multiple basses and I have always liked them, to me and my fingers these strings always felt slippery especially after playing for long stretches of time.

What material are the Daggers made out of?
