No tort pickguard?

Just kidding. But that two tone blackburst is one h'll of an underrated finish. But since it's so beautiful I wouldn't cover it up that much with a pitch black pickguard. I'd rather had a "see through" plastic pickguard so one could see all of the grain and wood. Or rather, no pickguard at all! And of course, then you have to make it different with a back cavity, or "back loaded" controls, as it is called.
Ok, so that was first impression, how about second impressions, such as neck dive, and dead spots? Where do you keep your thumb while playing? Floating thumb technique? Do you rest on the top of the pickup shells which are rounded?
And second, if we're on the fence on the Dingwall (I've got one Combustion already) I would know if you'd like to share the price that you paid, or you just don't have the ... nerve?
