NBD: Double P

Sounds fantastic with DR Sunbeams on there. I suspected, and Tribe confirmed, that the detents in the eq knobs are designed for you to dial in the tone with the eq knobs centered and then use them as needed to cut and boost bass/treble from there. It sounds fine with the eq knobs all the way down, but they're good for dialing in the center (both pickups on) position. If you have a good Jazz bass, it's probably unessential since it covers familiar tonal ground. With everything zero'd out, I think it has better neck only and bridge only tones than my MJ4, but not as good with both pickups on. But obviously the eq is there for a reason on both bases so... :D

Here's my Squier Paranormal "54 Jazz. back in the day I played a lot of dark clubs and liked the Maple Fingerboard with black inlays,Natural finish is no longer available, I would have preferred block inlays, This is a keeper, have had it 4 years with Fender Flats. It's as if Leo had brought out the Jazz in "54 - great bass without the "Fender" decal up-charge $$$ !

I've wanted a double scpb for a while. I had been thinking about building one, but I ended up getting this Tribe Shob for less than that would have cost me. I 'm not a fan of maple fretboards cosmetically, but as long as they aren't gloss-finished, they don't bother me playing-wise. It's not too heavy, balances well, and plays well. Will take a bit to figure it out sound-wise since it has flat wounds on it and it's destined for roundwounds. I can say that the two pickups balance very well, unlike the typical PJ so that's a good start!

Do you mind me call her " 50s Jazz Bass "
