A lot of different tones are in that JC. Where you play, behind the pick up, in front, near the neck, close to the bridge has quite the impact on the voice of this particular bass.

B&O Beosystem 5500 bought many years ago. I went with Bose speakers, though. I still may add a B&O set if the dentist doesn't break my piggy bank.

I've only had it a day and a half and I'm recovering from shoulder surgery so it'll be a few weeks before I go to a place where I can crank it. I doubt I'll ever play anyplace loud enough for feedback to be troublesome, though.

Another recommendation for TI flats. I have them on a Gibson ES335 which is the same scale length and they sound great. "Low tension"is how they feel. Pricey though.......and you might need to change them every decade or two.

I am primarily a Precision player. I also find that one bag ass bass, even when playing standing. The cool factor makes up for it though! Enjoy your super cool bass.

I've been an aficcionado of the single-pickup bass since I bought my first Fender Precision Bass in 1973. There's no practical reason for this, it's just what I like. When I bought my number one, Ibanez MC824DS, I had them order the single-pickup version rather than take the two-p/u hanging on the wall. That's just me and I've been happy with it since 1984. So in recent years I've been gazing repeatedly at the Epiphone Jack Casady. I'm retired, I have a bass I love and I don't need another. Well, I've recently culled the herd a bit, selling two (oops! three!) amps, two guitars and I've been gazing even more longingly at the Jack. With the money burning a hole in my pocket and MF recently putting the Blue Royale on sale, that did it; I bit.

It arrived yesterday so I haven't had time yet to wring it out but over the next week I'll do the setup and play as much as I can while I continue recovering from left shoulder surgery (that's a bitch for a bassist, I'll tell ya). The first impression is that it feels a little funny when I play in a sitting position but that's been true any time I've changed from one instrument to another. The body and neck feel good and I'll get used to the solid color, which was a big selling point to my Mrs. after my playing natural and wood grain stained instruments forever. Another adjustment will be getting used to the round wounds it came with. I haven't played rounds since around 1986. The only change I have planned is to replace the strap buttons with Dunlops. I'm gonna have some fun now!

Congratulations - that looks great!! I'm sure you'll really like it.

Two years ago I bought a white one and after a short adjustment period have come to enjoy it very much.
Getting used to the lack of forearm cut was a big factor. Once I dialed in the strap length it's a non-issue.

Be aware - I didn't care for the original strings at all and when I put on a set of flats they started to pull
the bridge posts outof the body. This is not at all uncommon. You could just glue them back in - end of story.
I don't like 3-point bridges in general so I upgraded to a black Hipshot. Babicz makes an excellent replacement as well.

I also decided to upgrade the tuners to black Hipshot as well to maintain the color scheme.

Been my personal bass hero since I first heard the "White Rabbit" intro. He and Jack Bruce are the main reasons I play bass. (Throw in some Felix Pappilardi, Tim Bogart, and Phil Lynott to round out my top 5 from back then.)

Congrats! I have a black JC, but that blue.... hmmm one with flats and one with rounds?
I had D'addario half rounds on mine. Had to adjust the truss rod for the higher tension, but no issues with the bridge.

That's what I plan to use when I eventually get a JC. Plus I think the yellow/gold silks will look nice with the Gold finish.

Not in my experience. I'd say average for flats but not low tension.

I can't say I've ever particularly noticed him; then again, I was never particularly into Jefferson Airplane and I don't recall knowingly having heard Hot Tuna, so maybe he's more relevant to the American audiences.

Then again, I might struggle to make a "top 10" list (actually of most things).
