I have been longing for a hollow body bass for a while and when the Jack Casady Blue Royale came up at GC I decided to pull the trigger.
The bass and case showed up yesterday and was perfect out of the box. The set up was great, string height and intonation were spot on. I barely needed to tune it up. The neck feels good, not to chunky in my had, but I do have rather large hands
I have not put a strap on yet but I am anticipating the neck dive so I am actually looking for a larger strap to counter that.
After noodling with it for a while I got to really dig in today and see what it can do. I ran it through an Ampeg BA210v2 and it sounded great (Bass 5, Mid 10, Treb 6. No buttons pushed). There is a great fur to the notes that I really love and adding a light amount on the Scrambler made this bass sound great.
I moved the bass over to my Pignose B100v, after letting it warm up, and let me tell you, this bass is made for an all tube amp. The varitone selector (So far I favor the 250 tone) coupled with the natural tube fur makes for one sweet sounding bass. The same can be said for pairing it with an Ampeg V4B, and I cannot wait to run it through the CL and 810.
Here are some pics.
