Well I can't pick it up until Thursday, but got to play it for awhile and its awesome, even with the dead rounds on it. Will be putting Chromes on it first thing! Not much info around on these or even any YouTube reviews as they were a pretty limited edition, discontinued awhile back and not many around online aside from popping up every now and then. This is a MIK '01 in pretty nice shape, the grain on the back is awesome, will post more pics when I bring it home.

Was looking for a compliment to my new Epiphone Embassy Pro but dont like the EB0/EB3 because I hate the mudbucker almost on top of the neck. The LP is perfect. Has a similar tone to the Embassy but rather than sounding similar to a T-Bird, it sounds more like a P on steroids IMO. Probably because its an alder body rather than mahogany like the Embassy/Thunderbird. The pickups are hotter and a bit more aggressive sounding with more mids than the Embassy pickups. The bridge pickup, like the Embassy, is actually quite useable. Its not a thin and wimpy sound like a Jazz bridge pickup, its thicker with a nice bite. $399 with the original case that was made just for these basses, love it.

I have one very similar to that one. I really like it too. Records really well. It is very mid-heavy as you mentioned. Exceptional with a plectrum and some grit. Doesn't do dub at all, however.

I use a Rumble 500 and the “contour” button is pretty much a mid scoop that also boosts the highs and lows. So it really takes care of that strong mid sound I’m not crazy about.
