NBD - Fender Aerodyne MIJ 2014

I've got exactly the same one! I also bought it on a whim and more to do with its weight and those classy looks.

To be honest I've really only started playing it seriously in the last few weeks after buying it in February. It's got the standard strings on it and it sounds great on the P pickup. In less impressed with the J alone though.

How much did you pay for it?

Gorgeous! I've had one of those (in that finish) on my GAS list longer than I'd care to admit. Play it well!

@AaronVonRock - If you change your mind about it, please drop me a PM. We can talk.

drool Noice! They don't make these anymore right? Where would one get one?

I have heard the Japanese models are discontinued. The one I bought is a 2014, so maybe it was among some of the last ones made?

I see MIJ Aerodynes pop up on the used market in Bangkok every now and then for reasonable prices. It's a bit of a trade off; American made instruments are $200-400 more expensive here than they are in the US but Japanese made ones that never reach North America or Europe are a good deal used.

Well, color me surprised, since I thought all Aerodynes looked like this:

Awesome, Congrats!
Question: does yours neck-dive? I have tried to buy an Aerodyne in the past and the head just went right for the floor.

Best of luck with this one!

No neckdive whatsoever. That was a concern of mine with the basswood body, but it's not an issue. I use a MONO Betty strap which are fairly wide and grippy on my shoulder. Not sure if that plays a role or not.
