NBD - Fender American Deluxe Dimension 5.

Man I love these things, that Fender saw it wise to discontinue the line makes me sad but I guess most never shared my ardent fervor and modern corporate America must pick it’s battles. Extremely well thought out and executed basses, this one is my third and is just as great as the other two. If I was (and I guess that I wasn’t) born the practical type I could think of no real reason to own any other bass than one of these soulful planks.

Very nice. Congrats! I really, really like the red one. If I would have ended up ordering, that’s the finish but the one hanging in the rack had vibe so, I bought it.

I’ve had a violin burst Deluxe 5. Bought it new in 2014.

I just switched from Ernie Ball string (fluorescent yellow 45-130’s) to DR Sunbeams. Took a bit of getting used to but, they work well on the Dimension.

I just prefer nickel coated strings.

Although I only had a Squier Dimension, I really enjoyed playing the Deluxes in stores. It was too bad they did not survive, but we are living in a shrinking and conservative market now that Baby Boomers are either retired or nearing the end of their working lives.

Best five string Fender since the Roscoe Beck. Too bad they weren't more popular. I was never a fan of the pickguard shape but they play and sound great

I've read nothing but complaints about weak, "blurry" low Bs in Fender Vs....what about that on both Dimension and Roscoe Beck? If they have great low Bs I might be in for grabbing one...great sounding and damn sexy, what would I be waiting for?

Yeah....really nice bass, i guess with an interesting sound. I just looked in ebay - prices differ a lot and there are also squier models available, new, too.

I converted my Standard into a fretless with an OBP-3 and it sounds really great with La Bella copper white tapewounds. More like an amplified double bass than you would expect (I just oiled the fretboard).

Don’t believe everything you read. The Dim 5s have great low Bs, and so do the other Fender 5s once you add the same B string stealth retainer the Dim 5s ship with.

Agreed a 2x American Standard V owner here with no complaints...both the neck and sound just hit the spot. That is a pretty bass. It makes me want a Deluxe too

I have been in the market deciding on a bass. Looking at Jazz, Spector or Warwick. Then I stumbled upon one of these in the interwebs and came straight over here to see any comments about them. Sounds interesting and I have to say, those look fantastic!

I enjoy playing my American deluxe dimension v. Sound engineer says it's an excellent sounding b string.

I have a MIM Deluxe V H that I just picked up. Wanted a Stingray 5 string with wide spacing. Well, this is pretty much it.
Gotta say, I really like it. I get it. I see me playing this one a LOT from here on out.
