I really want to find a lightly reliced black pickguard with tug bar holes for this bass. So far, I am not having much luck. I’m not ready to spend crazy money for a Spitfire guard quite yet.

Logic went out of the window. Not an active preamp in sight, but I'm lucky that this bass plays really well. Next stop is to put some flats on this thing (and remove the metal covers, as is the law).

Very nice bass! I'd put some Fender 9050 flats on that. Enjoy!

Thank you. Yeah, so far my two CS basses beat my American Original basses by some distance. I have heard horror stories about CS basses, but I think I lucked out with a couple of good ones.

You have a nice bass and I am glad for your discovery. I also have a Jazz bass that has the traditional three knobs that Leo added later.

You have the original set up with the 2 stacked knobs. I have seen the thread here about the debate between the two designs, and it seems some people convert to the old controls for they are better for a fretless.

Do you have any feed back yet on how you like original set up? Yes I know you have not had the bass long I was just wondering.

So far, I do prefer the two stacked knobs to the three knobs (2 x volume, 1 x tone). The stack knobs are a lot more intuitive and provide more tonal options, I think.
