I walked into my local Guitar Center - like we do - and saw a white Jazz bass on the used wall. This matching headstock, ony white with tort guard beauty was calling my name. I picked it up and played it and fell for it instantly. Now I have a history of selling Jazz basses but with a nice fair price tag on it it seemed like a good deal. I wanted to ensure that if I do sell I don't lose on the secondhand market. From what I know of Japanese basses they tend to fall somewhere between Mexi and American Standard quality - often times closer still to American. I asked Talkbass if it was a fair price and then did some research.

Seems this is a FSR Japanese run of 1966 reissue Jazz basses and only 132 were made available to the US in 2012/13. When I saw them selling for $900 on the second hand market, I decided the price was fair (even without the case and the little ding in the headstock).

When I got it home the action needed to be adjusted and I gave it a good setup. Possibly the best setup I've ever done because now it is low and buzz free. I cleaned it up - when I took the strings off the fretboard had some serious gunk on it. A little lemon oil and elbow grease and its in great shape.

Anyway, here she is...

Nice score!!! I will tell you...I TOO have a history of selling Jazz Basses...but this one (which is the exact same as the one I own) is NOT going anywhere ever...love it...great bass and you got yours at a unreal price point...enjoy!!!! I put Hipshot Lollipop tuners on mine (one being the double stop Xtender) and I really love it to bits...almost sold it once because jazz basses aren't my true love and it was too nice to sit...but I have been using it more and more these days...really nice neck and an overall beauty in looks and tone...so fun to play too....Olympic white WITH matching headstock is sooo nice!!!

'Tis the sexy. Congrats. I do like the aesthetic of white bass, tort 'guard, rosewood 'board, matching headstock. Good look for sure.

If it feels good in your hands, looks good to your eyes, and sounds good to your ears...what could be bad?!
