NBD Fender Mod Shop Jazz

Stoked on this bass. Ordered it to have another bass tuned to drop C. CGCF.

Ocean torquoise jazz with tort PG. C to D neck and noiseless pickups. Installed a Hipshot bridge as soon I recieved the bass.

The pics don't capture the Ocean Torquoise well. It has more of a green tint to it.

Love it overall.

I still don't get it. An "A" vibrates at 440 HZ regardless of how the instrument is tuned.
Different tuning moves the "A" from one fret to another.
So I don’t understand what you mean, “Heavier Sound”.
A heavier sound for the band overall. Not just the bass. Guitarists in my band tune to dropped C also

Playing an open C has a lower tone that playing an open E.

I'm not usually a fan of turquoise but that looks awesome! :) How long did it take for the build? Did you not like the bridge that came with it?
Enjoy it!
Best wishes,
Brent

A 440 Hz note played at the 9th fret of the low C string sounds thicker and heavier than the same 440 Hz one played with an open A string.

Took 36 days from ordering to the day it got delivered. I never played it with the original bridge. I just prefer Hipshot bridges for the lower tuning and sustain.

I popped a lot of top C strings with stock bridges before I installed Hipshots.

Excellent, congrats! Now that the deed is done, what do you think of the Mod Shop experience? If you could rewind time to 37 days ago, would you order one through the Mod Shop again?

I ask because I've ALMOST pulled the trigger on a mod shop jazz on three separate occasions...mainly because of the color combos that I couldn't find with a stock purchase.

I had them "built" and in the shopping cart, but never finalized the transaction; primarily because I saw only saw 4 string options and wanted a fiver.
