NBD - Fender Sting P-Bass

Nice bass!! congratulations on your purchase!
Those Sting sig basses are really nice.

I had one that I got for $450 back in 2007. I ended up trading it for a USA G&L L2000 which feels like a polar opposite of the Sting P bass.

I miss the neck a little bit, but I have a Classic 50s Pbass and a replacement neck that's also 1.75" wide so I have the fat, maple neck thing covered I guess.

Those SC P basses have a cool tone. I did have some issues when I dug in too hard though with the strings occasionally getting stuck under the pickup bobbin.

It is funny how many people hate that Sting Inlay on the 12th fret. Honestly don't know why, I think it looks cool. It's a signature bass, so why not. Even if it wasn't there it would not fool anyone one to think it is a real 50's P-Bass. Especially this one, looks brand new! As far as I am concerned, this bass looks great, plays great and killer old school tone. What else do you need??

I bought a Sting P-Bass when they first came out, but returned it due to major neck dive and finish flaws. It sounded cool, though.
Finish flaws? That is almost never seen on Fender Japan instruments. The quality of Fender Japan typically is way superior to anything Fender US or Mexico puts out. Zero neck dive with mine.

The "finish flaws", I should note, were due to damage prior to my receipt of the bass, not due to factory issues. I could have worded my post better.
It did neck dive, though.
